A Cultural Asset Mapping Initiative in the Los Angeles Promise Zone
Promise Zone Arts (PZA) is a cultural asset mapping and activation initiative administered by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) that gives Los Angeles Promise Zone residents a participatory platform to spotlight the artists, sites, cultural practices, and tradition bearers that they deem significant, illuminating the rich cultural tapestry that makes the Promise Zone communities thrive.
What is a Cultural Treasure?
Person:
Individuals who are culture bearers or experts in the practice of a cultural tradition
Groups:
Organizations that do work/conduct activities that are important to your culture or give you a sense of community
Events:
Events or activities where your culture is celebrated that are important to the community
Place:
Places that offer your favorite food, music, or other cultural items, or where important events take place
